Now that PC is getting more attention and the audiences are more diverse than ever, lets hope they reconsider PC for their next installment of sports games.ĭeveloping new game like NHL is too costly and if there is no community buying it like version for console, then there is no profit in making PC version.īut why the hell there is no (paid) statistic update for some version of NHL for PC which wouldn't be so costly like new game.Īnd if there would be some incompability between various versions of game in multiplayer(and also to support new operating systems(which in console world is obvious, but paid)), then its easier to have mandatory upgrade to new version of NHL for PC for games, but in same mode(think like DLC version of game which wouldn't be so costly) and it pay money for servers. It helped them lower the workload for the devs and still made them a ton of money.
The reason EA stopped making sports titles for PC (in my opinion) is because coding for the PC is difficult (because of all the different hardware configurations) and they noticed their target audience was for consoles.
If it would only be playable i would be so glad.īut I still can´t figure out why they stopped to sell this.ĭigital copies cost them way less money then retail copies.Īnd i dont think that porting it to pc would be so hard (Dark Souls is a different story) I dont mind them to bring this only on Origin. If EA see that NBA2K15 does incredibly well, they might consider it. Lets hope the next set of sports games they make are for PC/XBO/PS4. Times have changed and PC is getting more attention. Right now the only sports title available for the PC by EA is FIFA. Obviously they would only be available on Origin which is better than not at all. For me this is the game that started it all up, that put hockey on the map as a PC game worth playing.引用自 Processor:It would be amazing if EA would finally start bringing sports titles back to the PC (like Madden, NHL and UFC) but that's up to them. So go ahead, install it and see how it captures you in an instant. Of course, not all was roses and honey in paradise, as the game managed to be quite broken at release, but today, if you source the later released patches, you can have a good time without a single worry in the world. This made the game much more dynamic and more on the edge of the knife in terms of how a game could turn out, which is what it should have been from the very beginning. This in turn was based on a game that really flowed well: the speed and coordination of your teammates made it so that at any time you could launch an attack or actually steal the puck from your adversaries. There have been other NHL games before this one came to be released, but, for me, the 2004 season was a very game changing one: the game finally managed to create an atmosphere that was really hockey like, both because the graphics had reached a point where they could really represent the game in all its glory, the gameplay was more streamlined, and the developer found it a good thing to put some really cool superfluous animations in there, of players brawling, being happy and so on.
